Good call from Farke as Firpo look to apply finishing touches to his recovery at Leeds – TBR ViewWhile it’s a shame that Leeds won’t get to see Firpo in action just yet, it’s absolutely the best course of action for the player.

The ‘world-class‘ talent is coming back from a lengthy injury layoff that was initially meant to keep him out of action until September, so he needs to be protected and eventually eased back into action.

As Farke says, the international break comes at a good time with regards to helping Firpo apply the finishing touches to his recovery without missing any more game time for Leeds.

While it’s a shame that Leeds won’t get to see Firpo in action just yet, it’s absolutely the best course of action for the player.

According to Daniel Farke, the manager of Leeds United, Junior Firpo is unlikely to play again for the Whites until after the international break.

In an interview with the Yorkshire Evening Post, the head coach at Elland Road stated that the 27-year-old is “growing day by day” and making good progress in training.

Farke did, however, emphasize that he must put the Leeds team first and made a suggestion that he might bring Firpo back following the international break.

Due to his ongoing recovery from torn lateral ligaments in his knee, the defender has not yet appeared in a game for Leeds this season.

The international break will prove advantageous.”

Before Saturday’s Championship match against Plymouth, Farke was questioned by the Yorkshire Evening Post about his preparation for the match and what he had been doing with Firpo this week.

It’s challenging since one player cannot dictate your schedule,” the Leeds manager retorted. “Playing an internal game just for him doesn’t make sense in terms of getting him back to fitness.

“He benefits from every regular training week; the past two were good, and having so many sessions this week is helpful to him.”

He is developing daily, but we also need to remember that he hasn’t played in a game in several months due to a number of minor injuries as well as one or two serious ones.

“It’s great that he’s back and gets better every time. He will also benefit from the international break.

He can’t play every minute of every game, but he can be present in spirit for three weeks of team practice. He’s just missing out on playing time.

“We want to give them to him, but we’ll be careful because the important thing is to win with your best lineup.”

Excellent decision from Farke as Firpo looks to complete his recuperation at Leeds – TBR View.

Although it’s unfortunate that Firpo won’t be able to play right now for Leeds, this is the best move for the player.

The “world-class” talent needs to be protected and gradually eased back into action as he returns from a protracted injury layoff that was originally scheduled to keep him out of the game until September.

The international break, as Farke notes, is advantageous for Firpo in terms of allowing him to complete his recuperation without having to miss any more Leeds games.
