When Real Madrid plays SC Braga in their fourth Group C match of the 2023–24 season, they will be looking to secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages.

Los Blancos will be looking to repeat their victory from their previous European match, which they won away from home, at the Santiago Bernabeu later tonight.

In addition, they have the added incentive of needing to recover quickly from their disappointing goalless draw with Rayo Vallecano in La Liga, which dropped them to second place in the standings.

Four players for Real Madrid are sidelined for the matchup: Thibaut Courtois, Dani Ceballos, Eder Militao, and Aurelien Tchouameni.

Despite having a dislocated shoulder, Jude Bellingham has been named in the squad; however, a decision regarding his participation will be made much closer to the game.

Carlo Ancelotti will try to field a solid team that can win the game tonight even though he intends to rotate his players.

In addition, there will be the added incentive of wanting to recover quickly following their disappointing goalless draw in La Liga against Rayo Vallecano, which caused them to fall.

In Aurelien Tchouameni’s absence, Eduardo Camavinga will continue to play defensive midfield for Real Madrid.

After not starting against Rayo over the weekend, Federico Valverde, a constant in the Merengues’ lineup, should start as an interior midfielder against Braga, partnered by Toni Kroos.

In addition to Kroos, Rodrygo Goes is another player who might make a comeback to the starting lineup against Braga, possibly moving to the right wing. Vinicius Jr., a fellow countryman, should start on the left wing where he is most comfortable, with Joselu leading the Real Madrid attack.

Alternates

Ancelotti’s hesitation to use Brahim Diaz this season has been the subject of many questions, but the Spaniard might finally see some action later tonight against Braga.

Arda Guler, a recent addition, might soon be ready to make his Real Madrid debut after joining in the summer. Nico Paz, a young academy standout, may make his Real Madrid debut after being called up to the team once more.

Luka Modric, a seasoned midfielder, will undoubtedly play some minutes in the game’s second half.
