Sources: Newcastle United plan to accept Emil Krafth offer.

BREAKING: Newcastle United Are Planning To Sell A Player.

Newcastle United are open to offers for Emil Krafth in January if a new centre-back is signed, sources have told Football Insider.

It is understood that the Magpies are willing to part ways with the 29-year-old defender next month if a suitable offer is received.

Newcastle United - Emil Krafth: This team spirit is helping me with my recovery

Krafth signed a new deal at St James’ Park in the summer of 2022 that runs until 2024, but Newcastle are willing to part ways with the Swedish international due to him falling down Eddie Howe’s pecking order.

Krafth has played just 137 minutes of first-team football for Newcastle this season with just two minutes coming in the Premier League.

He came on as a late substitute in Newcastle’s 3-0 defeat to Everton on Thursday night, while he was also brought on in the final minutes of the 2-0 loss against Bournemouth in November.

Newcastle are eager to remove Krafth from the club’s wage bill as soon as possible, but their current injury crisis means they are reluctant to let him leave without a replacement coming in.

As revealed by Football Insider on Friday (8 December), a new centre-back signing has become the top priority for Newcastle in January.

If Newcastle are able to complete the signing of a new defender then the club will accelerate their efforts to sell Krafth before his contract expires next summer.

With Sven Botman facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines as a result of a knee injury, Howe has relied upon Fabian Schar and Jamaal Lascelles as his central defensive partnership.

But with a congested winter schedule threatening to inflict more injuries on Newcastle’s squad, Howe wants to keep Krafth as a reserve defender at least until Botman’s return.
