ESPN: Vikings OC charge to court….

Minnesota Vikings OC Wes Phillips was arrested for driving while intoxicated, Friday night, but will still be with the team for Sunday’s away game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

According a team statement reported by ESPN, the Vikings said: ‘Wes immediately notified the team following his arrest last night.

‘This morning we contacted the NFL and after internal discussion, made the decision Wes will travel with the team to Las Vegas this afternoon.

We will continue to gather information regarding the incident and have further comment at the appropriate time.’

ESPN say Phillips posted a $300 bond and has an initial court appearance scheduled for December 21.

His arrest took place in suburban Minneapolis at 11 p.m. CT, records obtained by the outlet show.

Phillips, 44, joined the Vikings in 2022 as one of head coach Kevin O’Connell’s first hires. The pair had previously worked together on the L.A. Rams in 2020 and 2021.

Phillips is in his 17th NFL season, having previously taken up roles with Washington and Dallas in addition to the Vikings and Rams.

He is a third-generation NFL coach, as the son of the great defensive coordinator, Wade Phillips, and the grandson of the late Bum Phillips.

Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is set to to return against the Raiders after a seven-game absence due to a hamstring injury.

Minnesota QB Joshua Dobbs will throw to Jefferson for the first time and likely see some immediate benefits with the attention the Raiders are sure to devote to him.

Raiders left tackle Kolton Miller, Las Vegas’ best offensive lineman, will not play in Sunday’s home game because of a lingering shoulder injury. Also, rush end Maxx Crosby is questionable because of an ongoing knee injury. He was doubtful leading up to the week of the Kansas City Chiefs game and even went to the hospital, but played anyway.
