TRADE NEWS: Ohio and Michigan are in battle to welcome new signings.
Aaron Scott Jr. isn’t leaving the Buckeye State.
After a hotly contested recruiting battle for the four-star 2024 cornerback out of Springfield, Ohio, Scott spurned Michigan and Oregon Sunday as he donned a Braxton Miller jersey at his announcement ceremony and committed to Ohio State.
The No. 52 recruit in the country, fifth-ranked cornerback prospect and No. 2 player in Ohio, Scott’s decision means the Buckeyes have landed commitments from the top two players in the state in next year’s recruiting class. Fellow cornerback Bryce West, the No. 1 Ohio prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings, committed to the Buckeye program on June 24.
Given Scott’s elite status, his Ohio roots and the Buckeyes’ massive recruiting win over the archrival Wolverines, it’s no surprise that fellow OSU commits, coaches, former players and Ohio State staffers all chimed in on social media. We’ve compiled the best reactions to Scott’s commitment around Buckeye Nation below.
