Tragic news: A crucial player’s retirement was announced by the West Tigers head coach because he left his contract to sign a new one.

Brent Naden, who was released from the Canterbury Bulldogs, is a welcome addition to the Wests Tigers.

The 26-year-old will participate in 2023 and this season with the Wests Tigers.

Naden, according to coach Michael Maguire, is a great addition to the team.

Brent is a talented athlete. His Grand Final experience is extremely valuable.

Brent will undoubtedly make a significant contribution to the already excellent collection of players at the club.

For Brent and our playing group, it’s thrilling.

CEO Justin Pascoe repeated what Maguire said.

“Having Brent on board is a terrific addition. He is welcome to the club on behalf of all of our sponsors, members, and supporters.

Brent is a member of the team that will compete at Leichhardt Oval on Friday night in the Beyond Blue Cup against Canterbury.

The Wests Tigers are happy to announce that Alex Twal has extended his stay with the team by signing a new, long-term deal.

Twal is under contract for three years, extending his stay in Wests Tigers colours until at least the end of the 2027 NRL season. He had previously signed for the 2024 campaign.

The 27-year-old prop has played 124 games for the Wests Tigers in seven seasons since making his NRL debut in Round 17 of the 2017 campaign.

After failing to score a try in 115 games this season, he scored his first NRL try in Round 16 against Melbourne Storm.

Fans and members of the Wests Tigers were even more enamored with the Lebanon international when the wild celebrations at Campbelltown Sports Stadium went viral.

In game 116, Twal scores his first NRL try.

Twal, who is ready to begin his eighth season with the team, expressed excitement for the years to come.

Twal remarked, “I’m just so happy to extend my stay long-term because this club means so much to me.”

Here at Wests Tigers, where I made my NRL debut, I feel like family.

“As a squad and a club, we still have a lot of goals to accomplish, and as a player, I have too. In a few weeks, I can’t wait to finish 2023 and go headfirst into preseason training.

Twal’s consistency, in the opinion of head coach Benji Marshall, is a valuable addition to the group.

“He puts in a lot of effort, gets ready ahead of time, and delivers every week,” Marshall said.

He is a valued member of the Wests Tigers family, and we appreciate his dedication to and allegiance to our team.

According to CEO Justin Pascoe, Twal has a long history of success both on and off the field.

“We’re thrilled to have signed a new, long-term contract with Alex and his family,” Pascoe remarked.

With this new deal, Alex will become one of a few players who have played with the Wests Tigers for ten or more years. That says a lot.

Memberships for the Wests Tigers 2024 season will be on sale on Monday, October 23.
