This week at Rangers, everyone’s talking about Albion Rrahmani.

According to sources, negotiations for Jose Cordoba and Relebohile Mofokeng come closer, but the Kosovan attacker is reportedly drawing the most attention.

This season, Rangers struggled with a dearth of offensive alternatives as injuries beset Philippe Clement’s raw Ibrox team.

With 19 goals in 30 games, Albion Rrahmani’s stellar return excite fans and offer a glimmer of optimism for the upcoming campaign.

As the links appear in the Scottish and Romanian newspapers, Rangers supporters have now received the news they have all been waiting for regarding Rrahmani.

On social networking platform X, a well-known Kosovan football account first connected Rangers to Albion Rrahmani.

Over the weekend, Kosovan Football—who is, in all actuality, a preeminent source of Kosovan football news—made the assertion.

It generated a lot of discussion about Rrahmani, who, at 23, fits the Rangers’ profile in many ways.

However, the links first looked audacious with more specific reports indicating interest from teams like Benfica, Aston Villa, and Napoli, as well as a possible price tag of €10M (£8.5M).

The Daily Record now claims that Albion Rrahmani has been “scouted closely” by the Ibrox side, confirming the reports.

We’re sure Rangers fans will be interested in this news as it’s the first time we’ve seen a more reputable transfer link closer to home appear in a print newspaper. Not that any transaction seems clear-cut to Rrahmani.

Apart from his connections to some of the best leagues and teams in Europe, Neil Lennon was recently named manager of Rapid Bucharest.

When asked over the weekend about Albion Rrahmani’s future, the interim coach Bogdan Lobonț, who recently replaced the former Celtic player, similarly said, “I don’t know,” according to PRO Sport.

Beyond all of that, speculation exists as to how much signing the forward from Rapid Bucharest this summer would set you back.

Arriving from Kosovan team Ballkani in a £600K trade for the previous season, Rapid Bucharest owner Dan Sucu stated in March that a €8M (£6.8M) price is not “out of place.”

Sucu, cited by PRO Sport, stated, “Rrahmani’s job is to score.” There are several discussions going on, but none of them are close to completion because the time is not right for negotiations.

“Everyone is anticipating the upcoming games. €8 million is not an excessive sum.

We’re not totally persuaded Rangers will be prepared to spend that much on a single player, especially with a major summer reconstruction in the works.

Albion Rrahmani, however, is a player Rangers are apparently keeping an eye on, and we’re all waiting to see how this plays out.
