Huge injury hope for the Celtics versus Rangers match in December comes from Brendan Rodgers.

Daizen Maeda has been out for six weeks, but Brendan Rodgers believes he has a good chance of playing in the Celtic derby against Rangers on December 30.

Rodgers disclosed yesterday that Maeda would be sidelined for more than a month due to a knee injury sustained during Wednesday night’s loss to Atletico Madrid.

According to the timeline, the Japanese player was a serious doubt for the derby at the end of the year, but Rodgers sounds much more optimistic in his follow-up remarks that he will be able to attend.

Updates on the injury of Daizen Maeda Celtic

The Celtics manager stated to the Daily Record, “Hopefully, he’ll be back for that.” If you’re staring at him, I have a good feeling that he heals quickly.

He’s currently in London getting his assessment, so we’ll just have to wait and see. However, he ought to have returned by then.

Had he performed better in the challenge, he most likely wouldn’t have sustained the injury.

His mindset and disposition are excellent. For us, he initiates the pressure.

Football fans could see that it was simply a clash of feet and not a red. The irony was that their player miraculously got back up off the ground as soon as the red card was shown.

He has really been like a machine for us, so it’s a great shame.

The final match of both teams’ calendar year takes place on December 30 at lunchtime, when Celtic hosts Rangers. And it will be significant.

Despite having a game in hand, the Ibrox team is currently eight points behind the Bhoys. December has a full schedule of games, so there will be times when both teams lose.

It is imperative that Celtic prove their mettle in the derby and defeat our rivals to record their second season victory. It would indicate that the defending champions will continue to be successful in 2024 even with a new manager.
